Free coach and team practice scheduling on fields and courts with HoldATime: shared league calendars even on public courts, Groups for coaches vs open play, optional Daily/Weekly/Monthly recurring practice, QR posters, and a free plan to get started.

Coach practice scheduling software should replace the group chat where two teams claim Field 2 for the same Tuesday night. Youth sports practice calendars fall apart when holds live in texts, and league coach field booking becomes a guessing game—especially when the surface is a public court with no shared plan. Teams need one place to reserve practice times and see what other coaches already booked.
HoldATime.com is free team practice scheduling software for leagues, clubs, and volunteer coaches. Publish a booking page for sports fields and courts, invite coaches (or open registration), use Groups so the right people can reserve practice amenities, enable optional recurring practice reservations, and keep everyone on the same calendar—even for public court practice scheduling. Start on the Free plan — no credit card — with a free landing page, 50 future reservations, a 14-day booking window, and unlimited amenities and users.
Why coaches need practice scheduling software (not group chat)
Side DMs do not show conflicts. One coach thinks the court is free; another already promised it to their roster. With HoldATime, sports field practice reservations and court holds appear on a shared calendar so coaches in the same league communicate plans by booking—not by hoping the last text thread was current.
Practice field and court reservations for teams and leagues
Add each practice field or court as an amenity—or multi-unit inventory when you have Field 1–3 under Practice Fields, or Court A/B for tennis and pickleball. Set practice-length duration caps, cleanup buffers between sessions, and booking windows so a youth sports practice calendar stays fair. Court reservation software for coaches works the same way whether you run soccer, baseball, basketball, or racket sports.
Using HoldATime on public courts so other coaches see your plans
You do not need to own the facility. A league can create a HoldATime organization, invite coaches (list-only) or allow open registration, and treat the shared calendar as the communication layer for public court practice scheduling. When you reserve Tuesday 6–7pm on Court 3, other coaches in the same organization see that hold and plan around it—far clearer than “we’ll be there unless someone else shows up.”
In Customer features, choose the access model that fits your league:
- Only people you add. Invite or import coaches from a spreadsheet so only your league roster can sign in and reserve practice times.
- Open registration. Allow coaches (or parents who book for teams) to join from your public page or QR poster when the league wants a lower barrier to entry.
Groups for coaches, teams, and open play
Create Groups—for example Coaches, Team A, or Open Play—and restrict practice fields so only listed coaches can book standing practice blocks. Leave open-play courts unrestricted when drop-in members should still reserve freely. That keeps league coach field booking separate from casual play without running two different tools.
Recurring practice reservations (weekly standing times)
When an admin enables recurring on a practice amenity, coaches can create Daily, Weekly, or Monthly series—ideal for a standing Tuesday/Thursday practice. Leave recurring off on amenities meant for one-off open play. Optional approval workflows still apply when your league wants staff to confirm a series before it goes live.
QR posters and printable passes at the field
Print a QR poster for the fence, dugout, or kiosk. Scanning opens your booking page so coaches can check availability and hold a practice slot on their phone. After they reserve, they get a printable QR pass to show on-site—useful when multiple teams share a public complex.
How to get coach practice scheduling live with HoldATime
Create your organization, add practice fields and courts, set fair-use rules, invite coaches or open registration, optionally enable recurring on practice amenities, then take a test reservation. For facility-wide tennis, pickleball, basketball, and field open play, see our guide to sports court and field reservation software. For a step-by-step setup walkthrough, see how to set up amenity reservations with HoldATime, see the practice and meeting room scheduling page, or sign up free and start in minutes.
Amenities stay free until you add an optional booking fee. Connect Stripe from Settings → Billing on Core or Pro (not Free). Bookers pay the listed fee at Stripe Checkout; money goes to your organization’s Stripe account and HoldATime keeps $0. Details: how to set up payments for amenity reservations.
