Free pickleball court reservation software—and tennis, basketball, and sports field booking—with HoldATime: list-only or open public signup, Groups, optional recurring bookings, QR posters and printable passes, fair-use rules, and a free plan to get started.

Looking for free pickleball court reservation software—or a free tennis, basketball, and sports field booking system? Court reservations should not live in a group chat or a clipboard at the gate. Prime evening slots get claimed twice, one team monopolizes the best surface, and whoever “owns” the calendar becomes the referee.
HoldATime.com is free sports court and field reservation software for communities and organizations. You publish a booking webpage for tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and sports fields, choose who can register, apply rules that block unfair holds, and use QR posters and printable passes so check-in stays simple on-site. Start on the Free plan — no credit card — with a free landing page, 50 future reservations, a 14-day booking window, and unlimited amenities and users.
Who can book tennis, pickleball, and court reservations
In Customer features you control onboarding. Two options cover most clubs:
- Only people you add. Invite or import customers from a spreadsheet. Only that list can sign in and reserve courts or fields — ideal for members-only clubs and private communities.
- Open registration. Anyone can create an account for your organization from your public page or QR poster and start booking — useful for municipal courts, open play, league fields, or guest-friendly facilities.
You can switch between list-only and open registration when your policy changes. Reservations can also be turned off entirely if you need a pause.
Need different people on different surfaces? Create Groups — for example Coaches vs Teachers, or league players vs open-play members — and restrict each court or field so only those groups can reserve it. Leave an amenity unrestricted when everyone on your roster should be able to book.
Tennis, pickleball, basketball courts, and sports fields
Add each surface as its own amenity — or group multi-unit inventory when you have Court 1–4 under Tennis Courts, several pickleball courts, a basketball court bank, or practice fields A/B. Different amenities can use different rules: short pickleball slots, longer tennis blocks, basketball open gym windows, or field holds for practices and games.
QR code booking at the court or field
Print a QR poster and hang it where players already look — fence, kiosk, bleachers, or clubhouse door. Scanning opens your public booking page so people can check availability and hold a slot on their phone. After they reserve, they get a printable QR pass to show on-site. Same flow on phone or tablet; no separate app store install required.
Reservation rules that keep play fair
Set restrictions per amenity (for example, Tennis Court 1, Pickleball Court A, Basketball Court, or Soccer Field) so the calendar enforces policy for you:
- Maximum duration per hold
- Daily hold limits (one court or field session per day, for example)
- Cleanup buffers between bookings
- Booking windows and how far ahead players can reserve
- Optional board or staff approval before a hold is confirmed
- Optional recurring reservations (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) when an admin enables them on that court or field
Fair-use becomes the default instead of a reminder email after the conflict already happened. Leave recurring off for open play; turn it on where coaches or leagues need a standing series. For coach and team practice coordination—including shared calendars on public courts—see coach and team practice scheduling software with HoldATime.
Get sports court and field reservations live quickly
Create your organization, add each tennis, pickleball, or basketball court and each sports field as an amenity, set rules, publish the booking page, choose list-only or open registration, then print a QR poster and take a test reservation. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see how to set up amenity reservations with HoldATime, see the pickleball and tennis court reservation page, or sign up free and start in minutes.
Amenities stay free until you add an optional booking fee. Connect Stripe from Settings → Billing on Core or Pro (not Free). Bookers pay the listed fee at Stripe Checkout; money goes to your organization’s Stripe account and HoldATime keeps $0. Details: how to set up payments for amenity reservations.
