Basketball and volleyball court reservation software

HoldATime is reservation software for basketball and volleyball courts that clubs, schools, and rec centers share. Name the gym or outdoor court, add Court 1–4 if more than one can be booked at once, set practice-length rules, and hang a QR poster so teams stop writing names on a whiteboard.

How to set it up

Treat a gym as one resource with numbered courts, or as separate resources when basketball and volleyball have different hours. A hold locks only that court, so an open court stays bookable at the same time.

Set a practice-length maximum, a buffer for the next game to set up, and who may book — a roster, open registration, or Groups for teams versus drop-in play. Recurring coach blocks stay off until you enable them.

  • Create the resource (Main Gym or Outdoor Court) and add units if two games can run at once.
  • Set duration caps and a cleanup buffer between games.
  • Choose who may book: imported list, open registration, or Groups.
  • Publish the page and hang a QR poster at the gym door or fence.

Who it is for

Parks, schools, YMCA-style rec centers, and clubs that share gym floors or outdoor courts without a league-only app.

Frequently asked questions

Can you reserve basketball or volleyball courts with HoldATime?

Yes. Add the gym or outdoor court as a resource, number the courts if more than one can be held at once, and let teams pick an open block from the booking page or a QR poster.

Do we need a different product for gym courts?

No. Basketball and volleyball use the same HoldATime resource as tennis: a name, optional units, duration rules, and a QR pass. This is not a separate gym product.

How do numbered gym courts and QR posters work?

Court 1 and Court 2 book independently. Scanning the poster opens live availability; after a hold, players get a printable pass to show at the door.

Where do we start after picking basketball or volleyball?

Create the court resource, add units, set duration and who may book, then publish. The fair-reservations guide covers buffers and Groups.
